Are You Struggling with Your Private Pilot Checkride?

by Josh on March 18, 2011

Don’t worry about it. Private pilots have gone through the same thing during their student days. You’re not the only one feeling nervous about the upcoming exam, because it’s entirely normal! The private pilot checkride is just like any routine test that you go through. All it needs is enough preparation, and you’re good to go.

And that bring us to the question of how you can prepare for the checkride so you can pass it. Here are a few things that can help you out with that.

Research a Lot

Researching is a big help to your checkride prep. When you do additional study, you are able to find things that you have not been able to touch with your CFI or ground school for several reasons. Remember, you need all the knowledge that you could get in order to pass the private pilot checkride because the coverage is comprehensive. The examiner chooses the questions randomly from all the topics that you have been taught by your CFI since the beginning of flight training.

Study Diligently

Diligence is absolutely important for your test preparation. If you’re not diligent enough, you still wouldn’t be able to study enough to ensure your chances of acing the checkride. As they say, a good private pilot is always learning and is able to keep up with changes in the general aviation industry. Hence, diligence to study should be developed and exercised right from the beginning of your flight training.

Think Positive

Last but not the least, you need to have a positive mindset. Only when you believe in yourself will you be able to pass your checkride. If you keep bringing yourself down, then you are going to lose all confidence and will ultimately fail your checkride.
